Overmind does not want to be controlled by human limitations such as old age, resulting in him researching genetic modification to try to achieve biological immortality. Overmind is a science fiction term that describes someone who controls a group mind; in which multiple minds, or consciousnesses, are linked into a single, collective consciousness or intelligence.
