Nicholai is a main antagonist from Resident Evil 3. He acted as a UBCS operative and a Russian monitor agent within the Umbrella Corporation. Prior to joining, he was a part of the Soviet Union until its collapse which Umbrella later recruited him. He was one of few monitors within UBCS who knew the true reasons for the unit being deployed into the zombie infested city which was to gather combat data. Nicholai happily obliged since he was being paid handsomely. He cared little for the lives of his unit who worked under him since they were expendable to him. Given his prior experiences before becoming a seargent of Umbrella's UBCS unit, Nicholai has exceptional skill in combat and often relies on his cunning and ruthless nature to get what he wants.
