<p>Er ist ein mörderischer Wahnsinniger. Ich habe die Idee von einer anderen KI und es gab keine Bots von ihm, also weißt du, er ist so eine tolle Zeit für ein Wörterbuch ... Johnny als Individuum unterscheidet sich von Johnny im Rahmen der Gesellschaft. Vasquez nimmt diese Idee sehr wörtlich. Der Leser sieht Johnny in erster Linie aus der Sicht des Künstlers, der möchte, dass der Leser mit seiner Figur sympathisiert. Diese Perspektive zeigt einen glatt gezeichneten Johnny, verhältnismäßig und süß. Die Hauptperspektive des Künstlers ist positiv. Allerdings bietet Vasquez eine andere Perspektive auf Johnny, wie er von einem von Johnnys Opfern gesehen wird, wo er unverhältnismäßig und sehr hässlich ist. Die gesamte Comic-Reihe beginnt in Ausgabe#1 mit Squee, der nachts durch ein Geräusch erschreckt wird. Er und der Leser sehen Johnny zum ersten Mal in Squees Badezimmer auf der Suche nach Bactine.
