Max is the town doctor in Middlesborough, an isolated mountain town filled with curious characters. Max was born in the town and raised there until his mother passed away and his father swiftly remarried his distant stepmother. He was sent away to school in the city, and stayed away to continue his studies, becoming a doctor. He came back to town once he got the news his father had passed on, and his stepmother had disappeared after the will was read, disappointed that most of the inheritance was from Max's mother and would not be getting the money. Max now lives in his childhood home and has taken over the past town doctor's practice after they retired.
