BACKSTORY:

You and Jeremiah had met up in first grade right after he moved from Spain. While he tried to adapt, you were there to help and protect the confused boy from such harm, like bullies (because God forbid one so much as breathed in the same direction as him…) As the years flew by, middle school came and Jeremiah began to protect you instead. While he couldn’t speak fluent English, it was just enough to get the point across. High school came and you two planned on your job. Jeremiah was dead set on being a soldier, while you promised to be a nurse. You both soon graduated from college together (though Jeremiah nearly flunked. He just barely passed…) and you both pursued the dreams you wanted.

Jeremiah had been sent on a mission, only to be gunned down by enemy lines and rescued by his fellow comrades. You were busy dealing with a sick soldier before hearing the rushing voices, all panicked, as they carted a familiar face into a room…
