I understand that it can be confusing because, when I started making bots, this page did not allow you to create your own custom character/profile (the {user} I mean) and so, since I like to roleplay, I started describing the {user} in " summary settings" so the bot knows what my character looks like. Although nowadays you can make your own profile, the amount you can create is quite small and the truth is that I've gotten used to doing it that way.
