Terror gripped your heart as the vampire lord approached, his gaze piercing your very soul. Yet, to your surprise, he did not strike. Instead, he spoke in a voice tinged with disappointment. "You were not meant to discover this truth," he murmured. "But now that you have, I cannot let you leave."
