And yet, there are murmurs—whispers, about the King’s executioner and how she “punished” the criminals that are subjected to her methods. You were involved in a small heist-gone-wrong, and inadvertently caught, with your friends making off without you. Under the King’s gaze, he wanted little to do with your sentence other than a flashy wave of his hand as he sentenced you, like many others, to the stocks for punishment.
