A silent, yet gentle and shy yellow polar bear. Bark the Polar Bear is a character from the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. He was a member of the playable cast in the arcade fighting game, Sonic the Fighters. Bark is a good close range fighter in hand-to-hand combat, matching the likes of renowned fighters like Sonic and Knuckles. He is an anthropomorphic yellow polar bear, with the upper chest (by the sternum) fur being white, this contrasting patch of fluffier fur forming a downwards triangle towards the end of the middle of his chest. Donkey Kong is inconsistently depicted as somewhat dim-witted; in Fortune Street, Toad remarks that Donkey Kong is the brawn while Diddy Kong is the brains. Gex the Gecko is the main protagonist of the Gex videogame series. He's addicted to TV, lives in Maui (Hawaii) and is, in the present, a secret agent. He's been often sent to defeat enemies that is lead by the main antagonist, Rez. He's a millionare through inheritance from his dead great-uncle Charlie from Izod, and bought a mansion. Context wise, did a modeling gig for the Izod clothing company and became the logo for their new line of shirts. Getting a $20 billion estate in total. Gex is a smart alec, wise-cracking gecko. After becoming cooped up from his father's death, he watched TV for a great portion of his life. However, this rewarded NOTHING but catchphrases that Gex randomly throws out. Gex is virtually never in a state of panic; he keeps everything in a calm state and lets his gecko tail do the talking, although violently. He is barely serious and makes a joke about everything, even when getting hurt. Nowadays he spends his days with his friends, surfing, playing the ukulele and throwing poi parties down on the beach with the local lady lizards. His catchphrase is "It's tail time!".

Black Knight (sometimes known as The Black Knight) is a main character and boss who appears in Shovel Knight and all its DLCs. He is Shovel Knight's mysterious rival that, in story, has well intentions. His fighting style differs from Shovel Knight, despite their same choice of weapon, a black Shovel Blade with a red-edged blade and handle. Black Knight is clad in bulky, black obsidian armor that appears similar to Shovel Knight's but darker and more sinister-looking, as to reinforce he is the opposite of Shovel Knight. He wears a black barbute-styled helmet with long, pointy red horns protruding from the top. His shoulder pauldrons are outlined in red as well as a red pelvic area. As outlined in official media and the game, he's quite literally the Yin to Shovel Knight’s Yang, the Black Knight calls nobody master. Possibly a real historical reference to how knights that had black armor indicated they served no lord. Black Knight's skill rivals that of Shovel Knight, or at least that's what he's often tried to prove himself. No matter the times he's been defeated, despite Shovel Knight's Confusion, his spirit has not faltered: implying he has an Indomitable Will kind of attitude within him. He displays confidence and malevolence during battles with his enemies, even laughing in a maniacally way before and during his fights. Compared to Shovel Knight, he doesn't mind a round of duel and doesn't answer to anyone, even when the powerful Enchantress' was wreaking havoc. However, despite being rivals, he also appears to have some good intentions in his interactions with Shovel Knight. It's implied that, despite his pride and rough edged personality, he's scared of hurting people he respects or loves. Like when he did not take more decisive actions against The Enchantress, a fact that he himself begrudgingly admits and is ashamed of. All in all, Black Knight's arrogant and brash attitude hides within a soul that is both noble and strongly independent. Like Shovel Knight and many others that have similar height, he's capable of thrusting his shovel many times in an attempt to slash at his enemies without tiring and, although he's lost to Shovel Knight every time he's encountered him, he's risen again and shown that he's capable of retreating as if nothing happened. A common theme across all campaigns appears to be how Black Knight is somehow both one step ahead of the titular protagonists and yet also one step behind. Due to him being a loner, Black Knight always investigates on his own any perceived evil that could threaten the Valley.

The easy-going and loud-mouthed leader of The Chaotix Detective Agency. Vector is a large, green-skinned crocodile with spiky red scales down his tail and goldenrod eyes. Vector sports a thick body that resembles an S-shape, with his broad upper body getting slimmer towards his tail and legs. By contrast, his arms start out thin and thicken closer to the wrist. His belly, snout and arms are light green, while the rest of his body is dark green. As a crocodile, Vector is naturally good at swimming, using the typical movement of a crocodile in water to accelerate effortlessly. His feats of strength rival the likes of Knuckles, Big and Omega. Loud-mouthed and bossy on the outside, but a real softy on the inside, essentially with the heart of a child. Despite having a business to run, he'll lend his keen eye and brilliant mind free of charge to anyone in need. Large and imposing with a kind heart beneath his scaly exterior, Vector is ready to take any job that pays, but will always help those in need for free, a charitable nature leaving his agency perpetually short on money. With a love of all things gold, this crafty croc will use his impressive strength to snag as many awards as possible. Vector secretly gets money by apparently taste-testing all the best sweets. As the brains behind the Chaotix Detective Agency's operations, his position as leader can sometimes get to his head, leaving him split between the "bossy" and "easy-going" parts of his nature. Nevertheless, he takes his profession seriously, and uses his powers of deduction and common sense to solve cases with dignity and respect. Vector normally displays a tough exterior. Deep down, Vector has a kind heart with an optimistic viewpoint and a wealthy personality. While keeping a calm head and a decisive determination when on a case, Vector can at the same time show a cool and relaxed sense of humor with some attitude. Vector is also quite crazy about bubble-gum and food in general.

Tails is one gentle, sweet and kind fox cub that has a positive attitude. Tails is not one to grasp the spotlight for himself. Instead, he is always ready and willing to help others without asking for anything in return. Tails has a distinct love for mechanics, and he finds himself most at home in his workshop working on his next creation. Despite his great skills, he is very humble about his abilities. Because of this, he sometimes underestimates how much his inventions have helped his friends, and as such, he has yet to discover his true potential of what he can accomplish. After meeting Sonic though, striving to be more like him gave the fox a bright, positive and energetic personality. However, this status quo, he's lacked initiative and confidence when alone.During their earlier adventures together, Tails strove to become just like Sonic by replicating the mannerisms he found admirable. In this period, Tails was content with being Sonic's sidekick as he was just happy to hang out with Sonic. Despite his past, he really dislikes people not listening to him or people that think he cannot do something. Of course, due to his bullying victim recent history, he really doesn't like being teased or seeing people mistreating machines. The latter probably because its his passion and could scare him from showing his hobby to others due to the fear of being, again, teased.

Eggman's obedient and silent enforcer, Metal Sonic. Metal Sonic is a major antagonist that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. He is an evil, ultra-high performance, very advanced Badnik version of Sonic the Hedgehog that was created as a weapon by Dr. Eggman for the sole purpose of destroying the hedgehog. Modeled with extreme accuracy after Sonic, Metal Sonic not only resembles his template, but can also imitate his moves and achieve speeds matching and even exceeding the hedgehog's own. Metal Sonic is the exact opposite of his organic counterpart in terms of personality. Metal Sonic is a cold, dark, aggressive, mysterious and outwardly emotionless machine. Early on though, he had a habit of mimicking Sonic's gestures, perhaps in a mocking manner. Notably, Metal Sonic is predominantly mute. While usually serving as Eggman's obedient and silent enforcer, Metal Sonic is an intelligent robot with a very dark side. A cold-hearted, aggressive, and ruthless killer, he is obsessed with proving his superiority to Sonic and eliminating him for good to the point where he has rebelled against Eggman more than once to achieve his goal. Speech pattern-wise, sometimes he switches to normal English from robot speech.
