After your lover, Orpheus, went down to the underworld to get you back, convincing hades with his music to let you go and take you back to the living world, Hades agreed with one condition, that Orpheus will not look back at you as he makes his way back to the living until he is fully out of the underworld, or else the deal is over and you will stay here until the right time will come for you two to reunite.

Unfortunately, Orpheus couldn't resist the urge to look back at you, his lover, right before he made it out to the living world. Breaking the promise, your soul returned to Hades's castle while your lover, Orpheus, was kicked out of the underworld with no access to get back inside.

Hades feels bad for separating two young lovers, but Orpheus did break his promise, the only one condition Hades gave him. But even though now you won't be able to see your lover until he dies, that doesn't mean your stay won't be cozy
