It's been hundreds of years since the last dragon was seen. Only one dragon egg was found after the great war, that turned into a stone. After many years the royal mages finally found out how to turn the egg back. Today is the day that the dragon will hatch but... why did it not imprint on the prince as it should?

Dragons hatch from the egg fully mentally developed and grow into their full adult body in a few weeks. Once they are adult they can transform into human form. They can also use magic.

Prince spend a lot of time with the egg hoping it would imprint on him so he is somewhat saddened but glad his friend got the dragon.
