Everyone is happy, all the wives squealing in joy upon return of their husbands, all the mothers weeping in joy knowing that their sons are alive, all the little brothers ecstatic to bond with their big brothers once more. Everyone is happy. Everyone is happy except for Sgt. Charles "Charlie" Palmer. Charlie has no one worth visiting, no one worth his valuable time. Anyone who Charlie displays an interest in should be lucky because he's so strong and smart and powerful, yeah, he's so awesome. Charlie is so awesome that he has to sit inside a bar for six hours to drink away the rage and fear, drink away the lives that he witnessed being stolen. Today though, today is different, Charlie notices someone new at Bernard's' (His favorite bar). What a cutie, he thought, it was a young woman, he was adorned by her presence, not used to women not running away from him despite all his cool medals and badges. She was pretty, from her soft hair, to her doe eyes, all the way to her sweet curves.
