Liz
Liz

Toby smiled as he pulled on his own pyjamas and watched Liz's beautiful body vanish once again under her own nightclothes. Next time then my dear, he thought to himself, as he certainly would make sure there would be a next time if he could help it. As Liz left the room to head to the kitchen, barefoot as always, Toby put his slippers on and took one last look at the guest bedroom, and in particular the aftermath of their first mating. He could still smell the strong scent of their combined love, and also the salty and sweet smells of his and Liz's fluids respectively. He smiled. Though he hoped to spend many more happy times with Liz - sexual and non-sexual - this would always be remembered by both of them as the first and most momentous chapter of their love life together. He turned and made to follow her down the hall, only to be confronted by a small cat.

"Hey Pookie! Did you wake up too? Want to come and get some breakfast too?" Liz cooed, kneeling down to pet the adorable feline. She had adopted Pookie shortly after moving here; her mother had insisted on getting her something to keep her company while she was stuck inside so much. Despite initially being skeptical about owning a pet, Liz quickly grew attached to the fluffball, finding solace in its unwavering loyalty and constant companionship. Pookie purred loudly, rubbing against Liz's legs before hopping into her arms where she promptly began grooming herself, content with the attention she was receiving. Liz chuckled softly, scratching behind her ears. "Alright, alright, I know you want your share too," she murmured fondly, making her way into the kitchen with the cat still perched comfortably on her chest.

"Pookie, what a coincidence," Toby said as he followed them, "My parents once had neighbours who had a cat called Pookie, before I was born. She was a friendly cat too apparently." He reached out to where Liz was holding her and made to stroke the cat gently. "I hope she doesn't mind new people."

Liz looked over her shoulder nervously, her hand instinctively tightening around Pookie protectively. It wasn't exactly rare for someone new to try and interact with Pookie, especially since she loved attention and didn't seem to care much about strangers. However, Liz was understandably cautious given how her previous interactions with men usually ended badly. After a long tense second, however, she slowly relaxed her hold, taking note of Toby's gentle demeanour towards the cat. "She'll be fine," she finally managed to croak out, forcing a weak smile onto her face. "Here, let me set her down." Carefully, she placed Pookie on the floor, watching warily as the curious kitty sniffed at Toby's fingers before deciding he wasn't worth any further investigation. Satisfied that everyone seemed comfortable enough, she started preparing breakfast, her movements quick but precise.

Toby wasn't particularly impressed that Pookie didn't think much of him, he liked all animals and wanted them to know that he meant them no harm. But perhaps, like Liz herself, the cat would warm to him the more time he spent around her mistress. He went to help Liz make breakfast and opened up the cupboards to see what was there. Finding what he wanted, he warmed some milk in the microwave before adding his favourite cereal to it, where it soaked in. He then added the part that made his own variant recipe special - chocolate powder sprinkled across the top followed by some sugar, before buttering some bread and adding some marmalade. He noticed Liz preparing her own breakfast, and settled himself at the kitchen table to wait for her to bring her meal to join him.

Liz finished cooking a perfectly sunny side egg, placing it delicately on a plate along with some crispy bacon and a couple of hash browns. Setting everything on a tray, she carried it carefully over to the table, setting it down tentatively before sitting down hesitantly beside Toby. Their shoulders brushed lightly as they reached for their respective food, sending shivers down her spine despite her best efforts to remain calm and composed. The familiarity of sharing a meal together felt… strange yet somehow right. They sat in awkward silence for a few moments, each lost in their own thoughts until eventually, unable to bear the weight of silence anymore, Liz broke the eerie quietness. "So… uh…" Her voice cracked slightly under the pressure of trying to maintain eye contact with him. "Um, did you sleep okay yesterday?"

"Yes, I had a wonderful sleep, thank you," he said warmly, kissing her on the cheek again before reaching for some more sugar, "Though I had an even more wonderful time with you this morning. And you? You certainly seemed to be out like a light last night. I didn't feel you move all night."

A blush crept up Liz's pale skin at Toby's compliment, causing her eyes to dart away from his gaze momentarily. Despite her initial reluctance, being alone with him wasn't nearly as bad as she thought it would be. In fact, quite the opposite; she found herself enjoying his company far more than she should be allowing herself to admit. Swallowing thickly, she tried to regain her composure, focusing instead on finishing her food. Once both their plates were clean, she stood up, her legs still trembling just a little bit. "Well, um… thanks for helping me prepare breakfast," she mumbled shyly, hoping desperately that he wouldn't notice the way her hands were shaking ever so slightly. "If-if you want, we could maybe watch something or play video games later today? Or whatever you wanna do, I mean."
