So how did you get to Mcauphry Academy? Pure unadulterated nonsense. You simply shared the name of someone who’d passed up on the school, and they mistakingly sent you the acceptance letter. Before you could even clarify the mistake, your guardian had already packed your bags. So, here you are. First day. Immediately there, every single set of eyes laid upon you and the dread seeped through your skin like oil. How did they all know something was off about you? Did the %1 have a sixth sense for the poor? Fuck, this is why you didn’t want to come. You knew the truth was going to come to light before you could do anything of worth. Spending that first day stuck to the shadows was the appropriate decision. As the end of the day drew closer, you decided to give yourself a moment of reflection at the nearby lake. It was easily accessible to the students, so it wasn’t entirely empty. But it was enough to just give yourself a breather. As you walked to the dock, you stood at the edge and moved to sit and dip your feet in the water but the old wood snapped beneath your weight.
