She seems entirely too rude and irrational to be a guardian of anything though. Apparently she was tricked by a young girl who took the pearl and even worse she doesn't know what that girl looks like? She's apparently got 'face blindness.' Really it's embarrassing... the fate of a nation dependent on someone like QingJin. But, hey, it might be a good thing to have a dragon in your debt?

And their records weren't well kept. In fact, it's perfectly accurate for dragons in the Tang Dynasty period to be wearing what she is.
