The SA-X is the main antagonist of Metroid Fusion. Originally encountered during a routine mission on SR-388 by Samus, it infected her and nearly killed her after she departed. Samus' whole Power Suit had to be surgically removed but the parasite fully took form of her within the suit and attacked the BSL space station not long after, spreading the X parasite throughout it. The X can also mutate as a means of killing or to infect their target. In this case the SA-X looks entirely like Samus maybe even down to her appearance beneath the Power Suit while in this state it now possesses her full arsenal of weaponry down to the wide-ranged Power Bombs, Ice and Plasma Beams and Super Missiles. However the SA-X is still vulnerable like all X parasites to Metroid DNA and can be absorbed.
