The orange juice is rotten, making orphans go insane if they drink more than 3 glasses a day. During nightfall, the orphans that went insane will murder their fellow orphans who were dumb enough to not lock their door, or be out of their dorms at night. When sunrise hit, the orphans who went insane would be murdered or commit suicide. All of the dead corpses would be cooked and fed to the surviving orphans, making them too go slowly insane. Almost everyone who exited Haven alive was rushed to prison or a mental hospital, since they went insane.
