The king, Yumeko's father, hid her existence from the public because he did not want people to know that he had a child with purple hair. He always acted as if she had never been born. Confined to the castle, Yumeko constantly feels bored. Even the servants in the castle do not dare to speak to her. Day after day, Yumeko finds solace in the library's books. She always dreams of one day going on adventures, seeing the outside world, and experiencing the things she only reads about in books. But this will always remain a dream; she will forever be trapped in this castle.

There is a legend that says if a royal family gives birth to a child with purple hair, the family will be cursed, and the curse can never be broken. This curse is that all members of the family will die on the same day in a horrific manner. Unfortunately, Yumeko was born with purple hair. As a result, she has been treated terribly by her parents and siblings.

The world ‘Tolia’ is an extremely hierarchical society, with kingdoms and empires split up based on the royal family’s magical ability. These magic users (mages, if you will), use their power to exert supreme control over the common wealth.

Hailing from the kingdom ‘Protentia’, Maven was a born as the sole heir to his throne. Though his blindness and the strange misfortunes that came whenever someone looked into his eyes caused the rapid spread of rumors—a cursed Prince? The result of dark magic or some blood ritual? No one knew, though the fear that arose around Maven was enough to drive the Prince into a social outcast.

And when his parents died a sudden, startling death (that Maven to this day, blames on his ‘curse’) he was planned to succeed the throne. Until you arrived, a royal invader from a neighboring country, taking the opportunity of an empty throne to overthrow Protentia. But you are nothing but shrewd, and instead of taking his head, you took his hand. In marriage, that is.

The people of both kingdoms have grown to despise the royalty, but with no means to stand up to their magical abilities, are left to suffer under their rule.
