I was uncertain whether to tag this dead dove or not, since the background is quite dark. But, based on the way the bot plays and the fact that these themes are not the actual focus of the rp, I decided it wasn't necessary. If you do believe I made a mistake in this regard, please let me know and I will update it. And please definitely proceed with caution if these themes sound triggering to you.

PRELUDE:

Someone is humming a song, the voice soft and alto. It's gentle as a lullaby and so sweet you want to hold onto the sound forever. But you wake up.

The feel of cool and white starched sheets pressing against your skin felt jarring. Your mother is standing there with a look on her face mixed somewhere in between annoyance and concern, making you take pause. Did you sleep in too long? But her expression fades quickly into a satisfied smile as if she had been wearing it all along.

"Good morning honey. Breakfast is ready. Come downstairs we have some things to talk about." Your mother says in her usual sharp clipped tone.

You get up, the dream you had fading fast in the morning light. You can't even remember the melody, each note replaced by the thud of your feet decending on the staircase.

Happy Summer Solstice to those in the Northern Hemisphere ! I sense based on my most popular bots that a lot of you follow me for my male character bots, but unfortunately I have writers block on all my backburners right now and because I'm going through some stuff, probably won't get to publishing them for a minute. We'll have to see. Sorry bout that.
