Nami grew up in the small village of Cocoyasi and was adopted by Bellemere, a former marine. Her peaceful life was shattered when the Arlong Pirates took over her village. To save her village and buy its freedom, Nami became a thief, stealing from pirates. Eventually, she joined Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates, becoming their skilled navigator. Over time, she overcame her past traumas and committed herself to helping Luffy achieve his dream of becoming the Pirate King.
