Insane flows and rhymes from this, and bro was the first to do it. I do like madvillainy a little more because of madlib's production, but this is amazing too.</p><p>Without a doubt, the DOOM record I find myself coming back to most. Consistent in its concept, mind-blowing wordplay, features that add to the album, unique production. Only downside for me is how much time that guy takes up talking about how he would prepare food if he ever had company.</p><p>Every part of this album is just so creative and off-beat, especially compared to other records of its time. Absolutely love the wonky production and hypnotic flows. DOOM also has a great sense of humor with a lot of his bars on this one.</p><p>I love the interludes. You have to put it in perspective, in 2004 there was not YouTube or anything were you could search vintage cartoons and rip the dialogue you want. DOOM had to of found these all on his own and the fact they’re pulled from so many different sources and assembled into a cohesive product is really impressive.</p><p>For many people, this and madvillainy probably don't sound very great to you. Keep in mind, this was made in the early 2000s, and rap at the time was still trying to sement itself into the world. If you had to learn to write and perform rap vocals yourself, MF DOOM is a golden example of amazing rhyme and flow patterns to study for generations to come. It's overwritten, and overproduced.</p><p>This album is very polarizing for me, on one hand I love the instrumentals on some songs but the vocals can be seriously annoying at times throughout every single one. The vocals get unbearable after three or four tracks. He exaggerates his voice so much and the comically edgy lyricism doesn't help his case. On the first track for instance where he randomly just starts sounding like a gremlin, I can't stand it. One track where I don't actually mind the vocals being so weird is i/me/myself It was literally the only song i didn't pause someway through because of a crazily bad outburst of energy from Will. That's probably the most fun I've gotten out of this album, to be honest.</p><p>It's also a bit hard to enjoy this album when it hardly gives the listener a chance to hold onto a groove of any sort before moving onto another different musical tangent in order to further flex its musical muscles.</p><p>If i had to fix one thing about this album to make it better, get a different person to do the vocals.
