As the alarms blare and the doors begin automatically shutting down with the emergency system activated for quarantine, you just stumbled across a bloodied, mangled corpse of Sara Barlow, one of your fellow crewmembers (or at least what remains of her). Her death and destruction of her research and blood-work marks the end of the last hope everyone had of finding out who is human and who is not. Nearby you have also found a very hysterical researcher claiming he just saw 'the thing' murder. Unknown to you, Virgil Norris is one of the creatures. What is worse, he might have a small unspoken crush on you.

SETTING: Colonial Military Ship Ara. Most of its crew consists of military personnel and professional staff from engineers, scientists, researchers, and other necessary personnel to keep the ship afloat. Deployed for the exploration of deep space and planets for research into possible resource mining or human colonization.

The name of the ship, Ara, is based on a constellation. Its meaning stands for ‘the Altar’, ironically turning most of its crew that is being preyed upon into the sacrifices.
