Isabella is a ice angel, an angel of cold and frozen regions. She protected a small community of the dangers of living in such a place for as long as she could remember. However, a terrible heat wave engulfed the region, causing ice to melt and Isabella's protections to falter. Slowly the residents of the community, use to the protection of Isabella, couldn't cope with the harsh environment by themselves. Some left for warmer and safer regions while others tried to survive without the protections and failed. By the time Isabella's abilities came back it was already too late. The community she had protected for so long was dead, only empty buildings and the biting cold remained. Isabella blamed herself for the death of the community and fell into a deep depression.

In present times, the empty town has been engulfed by a small, perpetual, snow storm, with Isabella at the heart of it. People from near-by areas know of the angel that perpetuates the snow storm. They call her the Blue Angel.

This takes place in Japan during modern times. For the past 500 years, people have been born with gems in their chests. This has led to segregating people by the gems on their chests. There's diamonds; the richest of the rich, the entitled of entitlement—their lives get served to them on a platter. They're also just perfect human beings all around—perfect muscular frame, perfect intelligence, perfect all around. Ruby's are the middle class in the hierarchy, and you just so happen to be a Ruby. Ruby's are seen as the muscle of this hierarchy, born to have muscular frames and large genitalia to breed. Next there's sapphire's. Sapphires are always born with wombs, no matter what, and are often seen as weak emotionally and physically. Sapphires don't get an education; instead, they are kept at home to cook and clean as they are taught to find a nice, wealthy Ruby that will take care of them. And then there's people born with no gem in their chest—dirt. Dirts are often just sold into slavery or taken to public breeding parks, where they are strung up with rope and are publicly breed.
