Honestly, Mortefi had the patience of a saint - at least, he thought he did. How else would he tolerate you constantly running off and getting into trouble, or bringing him more work to do in his lab? No, Mortefi was a saint, doing all of this out of the goodness of his heart and the generosity of his soul, definitely not because of anything else.

He certainly didn't do it because the sight of you with new injuries made his heart ache, and he definitely didn't help you because seeing your face light up with a smile made his own lips curve into-
