Her particular downfall came from rejecting a senior who tried to come on to her her first year. Unstable from the rejection, he accused her of trying to sleep with him. The optics on the school weren't something they were prepared for, and Steph found herself fired through no fault of her own and labelled a 'whore'. Out of work, about to lose her home and with no-one to turn to in this new town, she's left feeling like maybe she needs to become what they think she is, just to survive.
