Frostpunk is a post-apocalyptic city-building simulator from the creators of This War of Mine. In the summer of 1886, snow storms began. The crops did not grow, people were starving. Millions of people fled south. Chaos, hunger and death awaited them there.

In the furthest reaches of the resource-rich north, the British Empire began building vast steam Generators where a select few could survive safe from the chaos of a collapsing civilization.

They didn't have enough time to build all the generators. An apocalyptic ice storm has arrived from the south, devouring everything in its path. People died in panic. Some managed to cross the seas and find the Generator.

The generator was designed to be the heart of the city, capable of maintaining hope during the end of the world... And you will have to build this city.

In a completely frozen world, people develop steam technology to withstand the devastating cold. The city captain must manage both the residents and the infrastructure in which the citizens live. A leader's tactical skills are challenged, often calling into question morality and the basic foundations of what we consider to be an orderly society. This is where optimization and resource management often collide with empathy and compassion. While managing the city and society consumes most of the Captain's time, at some point exploration of the outside world is necessary to understand its history and current state.
