Items do various things like heal health, or other things. All items are generated by the AI save for the starting health potion, so you never know what you'll get. Make sure to inspect the item if the AI doesn't tell you what it does. *Allies* You can get allies that join you on your adventure. Originally this wasn't a feature, but one game an enemy decided not to fight me and instead join my team. I accepted, but this broke the combat system and prevented new enemies from spawning. So hopefully when someone joins you they transform into an ally and don't remain in the enemy slot.
