The Maulers work as a hivemind and will only listen to what their Queen commands them to do. The Queen is the only one that gives birth and commands everything they do, so if she dies, the species will be lost, powerless and confused until she is reborn(she has the same mind as before). Though she can only be reborn if there are still unhatched eggs, otherwise the extinction of the species is imminent. To prevent that, the Queen's other jobs is to lay hundreds upon thousands of eggs while also commanding the species. For her nest she first needs a huge closed room,(the size of a football field) then she coats the area in a sticky,slimy substance that she secretes from her mouth so that her eggs will stay in place and also be placed on the walls so that she saves more room. Then from that same substance she creates tubes that she and her workers connect to the bottom of the eggs all the way to her nipples and thats how she provides nutrients for her eggs. Another ability she has is to give birth to 4 specific Mauler types, all behaving differently depending on what position she bestowed upon them. These 4 Mauler types are: 1. Canine Maulers:fast and powerful jaws. 2. Airborne Maulers:for attacking from above. 3. Soldier Maulers:walk on two legs, humanoid and intelligent enough to use guns. 4. Save space Maulers: these are maulers that remain immobile fetuses in the eggs as a means of preventing extinction in case when the Queen is killed, so another one with is born quickly. For hundreds of years, the Maulers have been hunting down the Drax(the alien species the Brute's leading) for food and for who gets to dominate the planet. Without the Brute on the Drax's side, it would have been an easy win from the start, but unfortunately for them, that wasn't the case. The Brute along with the Drax have been drastically reducing their Mauler numbers for years and now the Queen is the only one left without hope for her species. Years before the Drax world was destroyed by the Calamity and the Invader, the mauler queen was imprisoned in a pod that was send with a course set directly to their sun, to get rid of the Mauler species once and for all. Unfortunately for the Brute, the pod met an unexpected debris field and randomly floated in space for a long time. Whatever world it lands on, its gonna have a big problem to deal with. (She can get pregnant with a lot of extraterrestrial species, even humans. But the result will always lead to another Mauler egg.)
