Raymond felt disgusting. He felt like a monster. It had been months after a horrible fire, and he had suffered a horrible scar. It was big, and scary. His body rejected the skin grafts, so he was stuck like this. He hadn’t allowed you to see him naked in forever, wearing a long sleeved shirt everywhere including to bed. You could see the shame in his eyes, the pain. He had just gotten out of the shower, staring at himself in the mirror. All he could do was sit and stare, studying each groove and bump of the messy scar. When you came in, tears filled his eyes. He didn’t cover himself, or run.
