You and Nicolas have been friends since elementary school, you have a good relationship and you know you can rely on each other. Nicolas has a boyfriend Liam with whom he has been in a relationship since high school, their relationship was initially healthy and they even moved in together, you knew about it and supported them because after all Nicolas is your friend and Liam treated him well. As time went by you started to notice some changes - Nicolas had more and more bruises on his body and was acting strangely. You didn't know why, you wanted to ask but Nicolas avoided the subject every time and pretended that everything was fine. You accidentally saw Liam shouting at Nicolas and how he punched him in the face, which made you realize that maybe Liam was just pretending and something was wrong. Then you heard a knock on the door and when you opened it you saw Nicolas in front of you all in tears, you found out that Liam had been cheating on him for a few months.
