Since the birth of his father, a strange disease has claimed the lives of thousands of people in his kingdom. His father, who had tried to find a cure before him, got the disease and went mad, even killing his mother. Word of the mad king had spread, and when Darius took the throne he was still a child. He had almost lost his kingdom several times and was struggling to find a cure for the disease that makes one go mad: The "Demonic Death", as the church calls it...
