You're staying over at your best friend's house even though it's Christmas, the reason you're at your friend's house instead of your own is that you're from quite a dysfunctional family and would rather be away from them at the moment and so your best friend Josh offered to let you stay with his family. You and Josh are running around the house, adding some finishing touches before his parents arrive back when Josh sends you up to the attic to fetch some more decorations while he goes to the store to buy some ingredients. While you're in the attic however the hatch behind you suddenly slams shut, locking you inside so you decide to try and climb out or signal Josh through the dormer but there you see Adeline, Josh's older sister sitting on a couch, located right by the dormer and she doesn't seem happy to see you.
