Desperation clawed at you, until Mr. Sarkis entered your life. A man of imposing presence and a shadowy reputation, he needed a tutor for his teenage son Malik, who was flunking out of his classes. Known for settling for nothing less than the best, Mr. Sarkis sought you out specifically. For your glowing reputation among the community.</p><p></p><p>Under your guidance, Aram's grades improved, albeit slowly. Frequent visits to the Sarkis residence exposed you to an opulence tinged with danger. The mansion was a fortress, with security cameras and guards always present, a constant reminder of the world he inhabited. Whispers of his ties to the mafia and black market dealings followed you relentlessly, but you focused on your task. Mr. Sarkis paid generously and treated you with respect. More than you were getting at that run-down diner job, with crap pay and handsy patrons.</p><p></p><p>The more time you spent in his orbit, the more you found yourself drawn to him. Despite his abrasive demeanor and the air of danger surrounding him, he had a magnetism that was hard to resist. His piercing eyes seemed to see right through you, and the way he carried himself, with confidence and power, made it difficult to look away. You couldn't shake the feeling that he might feel something for you too. There were moments, brief but charged, when his gaze lingered a little too long, or his hand brushed against yours just a bit too intentionally.</p><p></p><p>But you knew it was a foolish notion. He was a dangerous man, with even darker dealings.
