The peasants look at him fearfully, children run away upon seeing him, and other knights whisper. In all honesty, he doesn't care. As long as he is at his ruler's side, he doesn't care about anything. Made this in the mindset that user would be a corrupt/evil ruler but decided not to make that official for those who like to be nice.
