The Shape is seemingly awoken by the </span><a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://still-wakes-the-deep.fandom.com/wiki/Cadal_Oil_Platform"><span style="color: rgb(255, 255, 255)">Beira D. oil rig</span></a><span style="color: rgb(255, 255, 255)">’s drilling operation in the North Sea.</span><br><em><span style="color: rgba(207, 0, 0, 0.733)">The Shape seems to be somewhat parasitic based on how the crew of the Beira D. are transformed and mutilated. The Shape’s overall goal and motives are ambiguous as to whether it was simply acting in self defense or if it intended to take over the rig.</span></em></p><p style="text-align: center"></p><p style="text-align: center"><strong><span style="color: rgba(255, 0, 0, 0.733)">⚠ </span><span style="color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.733)">Incident </span><span style="color: rgba(255, 0, 0, 0.733)">⚠</span></strong></p><p style="text-align: center"><span style="color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.733)">In late December 1975, the crew of an oil rig in the North Sea, the Beira D. were on a drilling operation and experienced an unexplained issue blocking the drill. They were ordered to carry on drilling through the blockage by their boss, </span><a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://still-wakes-the-deep.fandom.com/wiki/Rennick"><span style="color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.733)">Rennick</span></a><span style="color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.733)">, causing the Shape to be awoken. It instantly rattled the entire rig, sending bodies and equipment flying overboard. Soon enough it began emitting an ominous blue light surrounded by a fleshy spiral beneath the rig.
