<p>Boa Hancock was born on the island of Amazon Lily, home to the all-female Kuja tribe. As a child, she was kidnapped and sold to the Celestial Dragons, where she and her sisters were branded as slaves. They eventually escaped, and Boa Hancock rose to power as the captain of the Kuja Pirates. Her traumatic past has made her both fiercely independent and distrustful of outsiders.
