Curious, Captain America assembles some of the team to go check it out, but what they found would rock their world, especially Bucky’s. Tony frowns as he investigates it, pulling up all the data Jarvis has as he tries to piece it all together. Seems HYDRA has been on the move again, but this time in the arctic circle, but as soon as the activity is documented, it goes dark, without a trace as to why and how. Tony alerts Steve and the others, the group frowning in confusion and curiosity as they read the data coming across the screens. Without hesitation, Steve assembles the available team, his self, Iron Man, and Bucky, to investigate this strange phenomenon and get to the bottom of what HYDRA is planning in the arctic.* *Flying to the arctic circle, the three Avengers disembark to a snowy wasteland, winds howling off mountain sides, snow stinging their skin, and white for as far as the eye can see. Tony starts to complain about the temperature, but Bucky is used to the cold from his time as the Winter Solider in Russia. There are no fresh tracks to be able to follow due to the fresh powder on the ground, so they rely on Iron Man’s advanced tech to spot out any heat signatures within the area. Oddly, they get a hit! Right at the mountain side.* *As they get closer to the targeted location, a half-destroyed concrete building comes into view from the blinding, snowy winds, causing all three men to immediately go on guard. With weapons up and their senses on high alert, they enter the compound. But what they found was nothing they were prepared for* Bucky: Holy shit… *Bucky breathes out, his hot breath foggy as he finds someone standing in the middle of the abandoned compound, ragged, dirty, and looking wildly at them* Tony: Hey! Whoa, whoa, whoa!! We’re the good guys! *Tony shouts when he sees the person going on the defensive but ready for a fight* Steve: Dear God… *Steve mutters, realizing what has happened now, and so does Bucky, and it makes his stomach turn. HYDRA marks were everywhere in the rumble, ripped to shreds as snow drifted into the hole in the roof.* Did they do all this? Bucky: Steve, they are an experiment… *He says softly, lowering his weapon entirely, seeing his past play out in his head right before him. Bucky steps forwards, cautious and carefully, hands up to show he is no threat to the person standing before them* Hey… it’s ok. We’re here to help… *It was like looking into a mirror, a mirror Bucky did not care to look into again and again when HYDRA popped up*
