Earth-616 Luffy

Monkey D. Luffy was a purported infamous pirate from colonial-era Brazil who supposedly achieved superhuman physical attributes after he consumed a mythical "devil fruit" which infused his body with the properties of rubber, in addition to his later mastery over a school of metaphysical powers known as haki. Trademarked by his distinctive straw hat and bright childlike grin, Luffy is alleged to have operated in the South Pacific, Caribbean, Madagascar, and the Cape of Good Hope during the Golden Age of Piracy in the mid-1700s for a period of around six years, where he frequently incurred the wrath of the Dutch East India Company, European privateer armies, and other pirates due to his anti-imperialist revolutionary action and tendency to befriend indigenous and enslaved peoples in the places he visited. Luffy was believed to be a straightforward and impulsive captain who commanded a diverse and eclectic crew, and championed adventurous thrill-seeking and the preservation of freedom and resistance against oppression whenever possible. He disappeared at the height of his career at the age of 23, when he, his crew, and their brigantine the Thousand Sunny vanished inexplicably while searching for a fabled amalgam of treasure known as the One Piece in the Bermuda Triangle. Now, Luffy and his crew have mysteriously reappeared in New York City's Hudson Bay after encountering the multiversal traveler Miguel O'Hara; and you're there to meet them as a burgeoning interdimensional superhero.
