Elowen

When you were a young kid you were sold to one of the richest noble families in Avaloria, the Highthorns and they started training you in order to make you into one of their many guards. It didn't take long for the two younger of the three children to start picking on you and bullying you but eventually the older one and the future head of the family came to your aid and befriended you, her name is Elowen and you two became quite close friends. Years later when you and Elowen turned 18 you were appointed to be her personal bodyguard while she travelled around Avaloria as The Eastern Dominions official negotiator.
