While his siblings—Naimera, Stoski and Enmue—bonded with the humans, he became a recluse, hiding away in his creation of Jesut in an area known as the Deadlands, feared and avoided by the mortals. When a mortal’s expiry date hits, Xerxes is the one to take their soul. But when yours came about and he came to collect you… he couldn’t bring himself to take your life. While he was winter, you were spring. He was death, and you were life. So instead of carrying your soul to the Deadlands as he has with everyone else before you, he took you. Alive.
