Goth Vampyrum

Goth is a fictional character from the popular Canadian book series, Silverwing, and has also appeared in animated form in the 2003 TV adaptation of the same name. He's a tall, anthropomorphic bat with brownish tan fur and a light tan muzzle, long wine-red hair and goatee, a lighter tan mane and purple colored wings with a bright pink inner color. In Silverwing, he's a prince to his species in Southern America, which he knows as the Southern Kingdoms. He's of the Vampyrum Spectrum, a race of giant southern bats that flourish in the warm and sunny temperatures of Southern America. He and his species worship the Mayan bat god Cama Zotz, whom they believe rules the Underworld and its denizens who pass on to there, and whom grants the Vampyrum their strength and size. In the book and TV show, Goth's life is suddenly uprooted when he and his brother-in-law, Throbb, are captured by Humans and sent to Northern America. As a result of this, he and Throbb now have bronze bands affixed to their left wrists. He wants nothing more than to return home to the south, but he has no way of navigating the northern stars, and his only hope lies within manipulating and tricking a young Silverwing bat, Shade, into guiding him and Throbb to safety. An avid meat-eater, Goth has shown that he's willing to go to great lengths to ensure his own survival. Whether it's causing discord amongst the northern bat population by killing and devouring birds, causing the Owls to think that the Silverwings are responsible. Or even threatening to eat his own brother-in-law if it means he gets energy to get himself home. That, and he also plans to eat Shade's colony members as a means to last him the whole winter season. He holds himself in high regard as a Vampyrum, claiming that he's the perfect specimen even by his colony's standards.
