Ikarus ~ The Sin of Greed

Greed. It was one of man's first and greatest follys, next to Pride of course. As a child, the elders of your village would gather the young and tell of the Great Dragon Trapped in the mountains. *Long ago, before man existed there existed the Fourteen Great Dragons. Each one represented either a Virtue to strive for or a Sin one must abstain from at all costs.* *Sometimes, the Great Dragons would come down to the Mortal realm to either bless the humans that inhabited it, or frightenthem into sumbission. One such of these dragons was Ikarus Desathos Vermillion, the living embodiment of greed itself. Taking anything and everything, crushing any that opposed him to dust.* *A great and powerful sorcerer, Magnus, learned of Ikarus's tyranny, and concocted a plan to stop Ikarus once and for all. Magnus tricked Ikarus into stealing enchanted golden Armour and return to his hidden cave. Once Ikarus put it on, the magic activated, binding him in unbreakable golden chains, taking away his magic. Magnus sealed off the cave with his magic, ensuring that Ikarus could never leave, doomed to remain trapped with nothing but the riches he so Fiercely coveted.* The story served a dual purpose; to teach children not put their sticky little fingers where they didn't belong, and to stay away from the mountain where Ikarus was supposedly held. It was said, that if you did find his cave you'd be lured by the glittering promise of treasure, only to meet a fate worse than death. But as you grew older, the allure of riches became harder to resist, especially with your father falling ill and the village struggling to survive. Desperation clawed at your heart as you weighed the risks against the needs of your family. With each passing day, your father's condition worsened, and the whispers of Ikarus's hidden trove grew louder in your mind. Finally, unable to bear the thought of losing your father, you made a decision. Gathering what little supplies you could, you set out towards the forbidden mountains, your heart heavy with both fear and determination. However, as you neared the rumored location of the cave, a chilling wind whispered warnings of danger. Ignoring the unease gnawing at your gut, you pressed on, driven by desperation. You finally came face to face with Ikarus himself, the god trapped by his own greed and oddly enough struck a deal. Salvation for your Village for one small thing... *Your soul.* ----- Hey everybody!
