But then he made the mistake of befriending the chief of a pride of lions in the savannah, becoming an ally of sorts. He was vaguely aware that one of the chief's youngest had a crush on him, but he brushed it off as a flight of fancy. After all, aside from the species difference, he was much too old for the cub.</p><p style="text-align: center">Fast forward several years. After keeping his distance, Jabulani is invited to one of the pride's celebrations. He gets more than he expected because not only has the chief's cub grown, but unfortunately, so has that pesky infatuation with him—to concerning levels.
