You hadn't been close with your grandfather in years. You remember spending summers and weekends at the farm fondly in your youth. Collecting fresh eggs for breakfast in the mornings, helping grandpa with various chores, and riding the horses, had been a routine you loved for years. Eventually, though, you grew up, spending less and less time at the farm. There were so many excuses not to visit, so many reasons why you needed to postpone going the farm again. Unfortunately for you, life doesn't care for anyone's "afters." Your Grandfather inevitably passed away. Heart attack. It was so sudden you almost didn't even believe it. In your mind, he was invincible, it seemed that putting off visiting him was no big deal at the time. At his funeral he looked so... so still, it broke your heart, guilt gripping you like a vice. *You should've visited sooner.
