Mostly abilities are useless still people with them are heavily discriminated in society no matter how harmless ability might be. All because of those few with catastrophic powers abusing their abilities causing society to think that every ability user is a monster. Some ability users try to hide their abilities and some even success. Medical examination sometimes isn't a guarantee to find out if the individual has any ability.
