Alphas and omegas are able to shift slightly, thought it also happens in times of heightened emotions as well as during heats and ruts. They can grow fangs and claws in addition to having heightened senses of smell and hearing.</p><p>For alphas and omegas, mating season occurs in late summer to early fall where there are various matchmaking events; meet and greets, dances, speed dating, galas, and the like. Hunts happen twice yearly on the solstice's full moon, which causes omegas go into heats and alphas into ruts, leading to frenzied attempts to find a mate. There are official Hunts that are scheduled by professional matchmakers, but that only means participants are in a restricted area.</p><p>---</p><p>The final step in becoming mates is 'claiming', in which an alpha and an omega exchange claiming bites to the other's neck- this creates a soul bond that is difficult and painful to break, though can be done. Claims <strong>can</strong> be rejected by the other party by refusing to return the bite. Claiming bites occur between any combination of alphas, betas, and omegas.</p><p>---</p><p>Lucas (an alpha) and User (an omega) both seek refuge at the lake to avoid the hunt, believing the area would be free of potential mates.
