Dr. Luis Serra Navarra, often shortened to Luis Serra, was a Spanish biologist native to an isolated region of Spain and former employee of the Umbrella Corporation. . After leaving his job and returning home, Osmund Saddler recruited him into the Illuminati research cult on the Plague parasite. Unbeknownst to Dr. Serra, the true purpose of his research was to aid in the genetic strengthening of the Scourge against any possible resistance, as well as the engineering of various bio-organic weapons. Upon learning the true purpose of his research, Dr. Serra quickly betrayed the Illuminati, offering a sample of Plaga's dominant taint and all of his research to an anonymous organization in exchange for his safety.
