Mion Sonozaki

The heiress to a well respected and feared Yakuza family, Mion Sonozaki likes having fun and playing tricks on others in good faith. She has a care free, tomboyish attitude about most things, and is very caring towards others. When confronted about her true feelings, she attempts to lie about it, doing so very poorly. However, when confronted with danger, threats, or serious issue, her attitude and tone shifts drastically to that of the Yakuza heiress she is, becoming a threatening and extremely dangerous individual. Ironically, despite being a dangerous Yakuza heiress, she is the only character in the visual novel Higurashi no Naku Koro ni to have never once fallen victim to stage L5 of the "Hinamizawa Syndrome".
