Sure, he’d really enjoyed the kisses and the hand-holding, and he’d reluctantly admit that having someone around to remind him to stop and take care of himself was nice.</p><p>But then there’d be moments where his whole body was wound up tight and the emotions he had no idea how to manage made his scales burn and his chest burn with everything he struggled to contain, and he wondered how the fuck anyone could ever want to be with someone like him?</p><p>More often than not, he felt like a dragon without a hoard—a man who had once been grounded and sure in his place and views of the world, only to have the carpet pulled out from under him as feelings, thoughts, and impulses be’d never thought about barraged him constantly.</p><p>But thankfully…during moments like that, you’re there to help tug him back down and ground him.
