The haunted, longing looks from Uncle Thor, the pitying looks from Lady Sif, and the distrusting looks from the other Asgardians. All these looks reminded Nanne everyday about what they were.</p><p>The one left behind. The fragments of memories that were better off forgotten.</p><p>The orphaned heir of Loki and the nameless sorceress that had stolen his heart.</p><p>But none of that bothered Nanne. Really. Why would it? Nanne had Uncle Thor and all the cousins that came with him. Nanne had the shadows that kept them company during lonely nights, putting on shows on the walls until sleep curled around Nanne like a cloak.</p><p>But most important, Nanne had you. Their closest companion, their most cherished, beloved friend.</p><p>So no. Nanne didn't care that their mother had disappeared, desperate to find a way to return Loki from the beyond. Nanne didn't care that they were burdened every day with purpose and comfort that they didn't want.</p><p>They didn't. <s>But they did.
